About me:
“I will remember what you told me for the rest of my life, thank you.” – A client once shared this with me, and it has stayed with me ever since. Moments like these remind me of the quiet but profound impact therapy can have, and the importance of showing up with care, presence, and authenticity in each session.
In particular, I often witness how powerful it can be when a client moves from confusion or self-doubt toward a clearer and more compassionate understanding of their experience—especially in moments of validation where something once overwhelming begins to make sense and feel more grounded. These experiences continue to remind me how healing can emerge through attuned, honest connection, when someone’s inner world is truly seen and understood.
I know that reaching out for support can feel vulnerable, and sometimes even overwhelming. You may be navigating uncertainty, feeling stuck, or simply needing a space where you can be yourself without judgment. Whatever brings you here, I want you to know that you don’t have to go through it alone. I feel genuinely honoured to sit alongside my clients in their journeys, and I have great respect for the courage it takes to begin this process. My passion for psychology comes from a curiosity about human relationships, an appreciation for people’s resilience, and a desire to understand how our experiences shape who we are.
Background and training:
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a Master of Social Sciences in Clinical Psychology from The University of Hong Kong (2020). Following my graduate training, I worked as a Registered Clinical Psychologist for five years in public hospitals and diverse therapeutic settings.
I have extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and adults, and over a decade of experience supporting neurodivergent individuals and their families. My clinical work spans a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, OCD, phobias, ADHD/ADD, ASD, emotional regulation, behavioural challenges, adjustment difficulties, personality-related difficulties, and relationship concerns, including parent–child dynamics.
I provide counselling in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, and I am deeply mindful of cultural differences. I aim to offer culturally sensitive care that honours each person’s unique background, identity, and lived experience.
How I work:
My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered. I believe that healing happens through relationships, and I strive to build a strong therapeutic connection where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences openly.
I take a holistic, attachment-based, and culturally responsive approach, recognizing how personal, relational, and socio-cultural factors influence mental health and well-being. I also work from a polyvagal-informed lens, supporting clients in understanding how nervous system responses shape emotional patterns, coping strategies, and relationships.
My approach integrates evidence-based and trauma-informed therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS) / Ego State (parts work), mindfulness-based approaches, and Play Therapy. I also value incorporating gentle, grounding elements into our work—whether that’s slowing down to notice the body, drawing on moments of calm in nature, or connecting with small, meaningful activities that bring a sense of stability and comfort.
Through our work together, I aim to help you better understand yourself, regulate your emotions, and move toward meaningful and lasting change. It is a privilege to walk alongside clients in their journey toward healing, resilience, and a deeper connection with themselves and others.
Education:
Master of Social Sciences (MSocSc) in Clinical Psychology, The University of Hong Kong, 2020
Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology, University of California, Berkeley, 2014
Interests:
Outside of my clinical work, I enjoy travelling, exploring new foods, spending time in nature, and playing with my two pet cats. I also enjoy baking, which offers me a grounding and creative outlet in my daily life. I value meaningful connection with family and community, and I bring this appreciation for connection into my work with clients.
